Biblical Prophecy of Cities



Tyre
Eze:26:3: Therefore thus saith the Lord GOD; Behold, I am against thee, O Tyrus, and will cause many nations to
come up against thee, as the sea causeth his waves to come up.
Eze:26:4: And they shall destroy the walls of Tyrus, and break down her towers: I will also scrape her dust from
her, and make her like the top of a rock.
Eze:26:7: For thus saith the Lord GOD; Behold, I will bring upon Tyrus Nebuchadrezzar king of Babylon, a king
of kings, from the north, with horses, and with chariots, and with horsemen, and companies, and much people.
Eze:26:8: He shall slay with the sword thy daughters in the field: and he shall make a fort against thee, and cast a
mount against thee, and lift up the buckler against thee.
Eze:26:12: And they shall make a spoil of thy riches, and make a prey of thy merchandise: and they shall break
down thy walls, and destroy thy pleasant houses: and they shall lay thy stones and thy timber and thy dust in the
midst of the water.
Eze:26:14: And I will make thee like the top of a rock: thou shalt be a place to spread nets upon; thou shalt be
built no more: for I the LORD have spoken it, saith the Lord GOD.
Eze:26:21: I will make thee a terror, and thou shalt be no more: though thou be sought for, yet shalt thou never
be found again, saith the Lord GOD.

Tyres  sister city Sidon

Eze:28:22: And say, Thus saith the Lord GOD; Behold, I am against thee, O Zidon; and I will be glorified in the
midst of thee: and they shall know that I am the LORD, when I shall have executed judgments in her, and shall
be sanctified in her.

Eze:28:23: For I will send into her pestilence, and blood into her streets; and the wounded shall be judged in the
midst of her by the sword upon her on every side; and they shall know that I am the LORD.

Samaria

Ho:13:16: Samaria shall become desolate; for she hath rebelled against her God: they shall fall by the sword:
their infants shall be dashed in pieces, and their women with child shall be ripped up.

Mic:1:6: Therefore I will make Samaria as an heap of the field, and as plantings of a vineyard: and I will pour
down the stones thereof into the valley, and I will discover the foundations thereof.

Gaza-Ashkelon

Am:1:8: And I will cut off the inhabitant from Ashdod, and him that holdeth the sceptre from Ashkelon, and I
will turn mine hand against Ekron: and the remnant of the Philistines shall perish, saith the Lord GOD.

Jer:47:5: Baldness is come upon Gaza; Ashkelon is cut off with the remnant of their valley: how long wilt thou
cut thyself?

Zep:2:4: For Gaza shall be forsaken, and Ashkelon a desolation: they shall drive out Ashdod at the noon day, and
Ekron shall be rooted up.

Zep:2:6: And the sea coast shall be dwellings and cottages for shepherds, and folds for flocks.

Zep:2:7: And the coast shall be for the remnant of the house of Judah; they shall feed thereupon: in the houses
of Ashkelon shall they lie down in the evening: for the LORD their God shall visit them, and turn away their
captivity.

Moab-Ammon

Eze:25:3: And say unto the Ammonites, Hear the word of the Lord GOD; Thus saith the Lord GOD; Because thou
saidst, Aha, against my sanctuary, when it was profaned; and against the land of Israel, when it was desolate; and
against the house of Judah, when they went into captivity;

Eze:25:4: Behold, therefore I will deliver thee to the men of the east for a possession, and they shall set their
palaces in thee, and make their dwellings in thee: they shall eat thy fruit, and they shall drink thy milk.

Jer:48:47: Yet will I bring again the captivity of Moab in the latter days, saith the LORD.  Thus far is the
judgment of Moab.

Jer:49:6: And afterward I will bring again the captivity of the children of Ammon, saith the LORD.

Petra and Edom

Isa:34:6: The sword of the LORD is filled with blood, it is made fat with fatness, and with the blood of lambs and
goats, with the fat of the kidneys of rams: for the LORD hath a sacrifice in Bozrah, and a great slaughter in the
land of Idumea.

Isa:34:7: And the unicorns shall come down with them, and the bullocks with the bulls; and their land shall be
soaked with blood, and their dust made fat with fatness.

to his fellow; the screech owl also shall rest there, and find for herself a place of rest.

Isa:34:15: There shall the great owl make her nest, and lay, and hatch, and gather under her shadow: there shall
the vultures also be gathered, every one with her mate.

Jer:49:17: Also Edom shall be a desolation: every one that goeth by it shall be astonished, and shall hiss at all the
plagues thereof.

Jer:49:18: As in the overthrow of Sodom and Gomorrah and the neighbour cities thereof, saith the LORD, no
man shall abide there, neither shall a son of man dwell in it.

Eze:25:13: Therefore thus saith the Lord GOD; I will also stretch out mine hand upon Edom, and will cut off man
and beast from it; and I will make it desolate from Teman; and they of Dedan shall fall by the sword.

Eze:25:14: And I will lay my vengeance upon Edom by the hand of my people Israel: and they shall do in Edom
according to mine anger and according to my fury; and they shall know my vengeance, saith the Lord GOD.

Eze:35:5: Because thou hast had a perpetual hatred, and hast shed the blood of the children of Israel by the force
of the sword in the time of their calamity, in the time that their iniquity had an end:

Eze:35:6: Therefore, as I live, saith the Lord GOD, I will prepare thee unto blood, and blood shall pursue thee:
sith thou hast not hated blood, even blood shall pursue thee.

Eze:35:7: Thus will I make mount Seir most desolate, and cut off from it him that passeth out and him that
returneth.

Thebes and Memphis

Eze:30:13: Thus saith the Lord GOD; I will also destroy the idols, and I will cause their images to cease out of
Noph; and there shall be no more a prince of the land of Egypt: and I will put a fear in the land of Egypt.

Eze:30:14: And I will make Pathros desolate, and will set fire in Zoan, and will execute judgments in No.

Eze:30:15: And I will pour my fury upon Sin, the strength of Egypt; and I will cut off the multitude of No.

Nineveh

Na:1:8: But with an overrunning flood he will make an utter end of the place thereof, and darkness shall pursue
his enemies.

Na:1:10: For while they be folden together as thorns, and while they are drunken as drunkards, they shall be
devoured as stubble fully dry.

Na:2:6: The gates of the rivers shall be opened, and the palace shall be dissolved.

Na:3:10: Yet was she carried away, she went into captivity: her young children also were dashed in pieces at the
top of all the streets: and they cast lots for her honourable men, and all her great men were bound in chains.

Na:3:13: Behold, thy people in the midst of thee are women: the gates of thy land shall be set wide open unto
thine enemies: the fire shall devour thy bars.

Na:3:19: There is no healing of thy bruise; thy wound is grievous: all that hear the bruit of thee shall clap the
hands over thee: for upon whom hath not thy wickedness passed continually?

Babylon

Isa:13:19: And Babylon, the glory of kingdoms, the beauty of the Chaldees’ excellency, shall be as when God
overthrew Sodom and Gomorrah.

Isa:13:20: It shall never be inhabited, neither shall it be dwelt in from generation to generation: neither shall the
Arabian pitch tent there; neither shall the shepherds make their fold there.

Isa:13:21: But wild beasts of the desert shall lie there; and their houses shall be full of doleful creatures; and owls
shall dwell there, and satyrs shall dance there.

Isa:13:22: And the wild beasts of the islands shall cry in their desolate houses, and dragons in their pleasant
palaces: and her time is near to come, and her days shall not be prolonged.

Isa:14:23: I will also make it a possession for the bittern, and pools of water: and I will sweep it with the besom of
destruction, saith the LORD of hosts.

Jer:51:26: And they shall not take of thee a stone for a corner, nor a stone for foundations; but thou shalt be
desolate for ever, saith the LORD.

Jer:51:43: Her cities are a desolation, a dry land, and a wilderness, a land wherein no man dwelleth, neither doth
any son of man pass thereby.

Chorazin, Bethsaida, Capernaum

M’t:11:20: Then began he to upbraid the cities wherein most of his mighty works were done, because they
repented not:

M’t:11:21: Woe unto thee, Chorazin! woe unto thee, Bethsaida! for if the mighty works, which were done in you,
had been done in Tyre and Sidon, they would have repented long ago in sackcloth and ashes.

M’t:11:22: But I say unto you, It shall be more tolerable for Tyre and Sidon at the day of judgment, than for you.

M’t:11:23: And thou, Capernaum, which art exalted unto heaven, shalt be brought down to hell: for if the mighty
works, which have been done in thee, had been done in Sodom, it would have remained until this day.

M’t:11:24: But I say unto you, That it shall be more tolerable for the land of Sodom in the day of judgment, than
for thee.

Jerusalem’s enlargement

Jer:31:38: Behold, the days come, saith the LORD, that the city shall be built to the LORD from the tower of
Hananeel unto the gate of the corner.

Jer:31:39: And the measuring line shall yet go forth over against it upon the hill Gareb, and shall compass about
to Goath.
Jer:31:40: And the whole valley of the dead bodies, and of the ashes, and all the fields unto the brook of Kidron,
unto the corner of the horse gate toward the east, shall be holy unto the LORD; it shall not be plucked up, nor
thrown down any more for ever.

Palestine

Le:26:31: And I will make your cities waste, and bring your sanctuaries unto desolation, and I will not smell the
savour of your sweet odours.

Le:26:32: And I will bring the land into desolation: and your enemies which dwell therein shall be astonished at it.

Le:26:33: And I will scatter you among the heathen, and will draw out a sword after you: and your land shall be
desolate, and your cities waste.

Eze:36:33: Thus saith the Lord GOD; In the day that I shall have cleansed you from all your iniquities I will also
cause you to dwell in the cities, and the wastes shall be builded.

Eze:36:34: And the desolate land shall be tilled, whereas it lay desolate in the sight of all that passed by.

Eze:36:35: And they shall say, This land that was desolate is become like the garden of Eden; and the waste and
desolate and ruined cities are become fenced, and are inhabited.
